Eric - funny to find this almost a year after the post. I was reading on of Morgan's old post about AR and searched for "Chicago Northwest Suburbs Real Estate"

And the AR post is nowhere to be found but your blog and Morgan blog post are still there a year later.

Kudos to you :)

Haha, Joe's post on Morgan's blog made me check the SERP's again for this term so that's how I found your post Eric, sitting at #11 right now. The agent who wrote the original post on AR though is considering spending some time now at REW and I think she may start blogging differently.

That's totally fair, Tony and you are correct.

They didn't write it, but they did feature it on their front page. I guess that's what I am tired of (and where I might disagree with you some) is them taking unsuspecting REALTORS down the primrose path... and not taking the opportunity to provide them with information instead of leaving them in the fog of misinformation.

But it's there right to do it.

And then folks will call them on it. ;-) Seems to work that way every time.

Best (and thanks as always for dropping by)!

You can't really blame the users at AR as they don't know any better.

"you are the tops in having posts rank in Google…and that seems to be happening regularly and getting featured…is fraudulent in my opinion."

I think this is good marketing on ARs part, they didn't write it, one of their members did. Nothing wrong with featuring it.

But again the member doesn't know any better. They are bragging about a search term that isn't competitive so of course a site like AR will rank in the top 5 for that phrase. But anyone that knows what they are really doing could easily get a non competitive search phrase like that in the top 5, even # 1.

The day an AR member brags about getting an article #1 for a competitive phrase like "city" + real estate, that will get my attention!
