7 interesting things is not something you just sit down and put into a box. I bet you had to think on that a bit.

Now, moving on. 7 interesting things about me. Where to start.

1. I went undefeated in the National High School Chess Championships in 1987. I won 5 games, and received draws on 2. I tied for 4th place in the United States for my division. And I gave very serious consideration to turning professional in lieu of attending college, etc.

2. I’m an aspiring chef/gourmet. I love to cook, and am always trying new things out. One of my favorite shows of all time is the ORIGINAL Japanese versions of Iron Chef. [The new versions just aren't as interesting to me. They seem quite tame by comparison.]

3. I attended college on a 4 year Army ROTC scholarship. I was an Army Officer for 8 years, and did 4 overseas missions: 3 to Germany and 1 to South Korea.

4. I enjoy travel. I always try to go where theres a deal to be had, and the dollar is strong. With the current dollar valuations, I’m considering making a trip to South America and possibly do some snow skiing, and/or pay a visit to Machu Pichu.

5. I live in a barn. Literally. My wife and I purchased a horse farm and constructed a custom barn with living quarters attached. [You can see some of the photos half way down the first page of my blog.]

6. I’m a car enthusiast. If a vehicle is fast and/or handles well, I like it. Anything from “common” cars such as the classic muscle cars of the mid/late 1960s, all the way to high tech multi-million dollar rocketships like the Bugatti Veyron, I love them all.

7. I enjoy online gaming in my spare time. The competition that human competitors provide is far more interesting and challenging than what computers are currently able to provide.
