Possible ventures

September 14, 2007

What makes a good search engine marketing venture is the same thing that makes and other type of joint venture work. Mostly it consists of the following:

  • Complimentary and Synergistic skills–Do have the ability to promote your product or service, but need an online “partn er” to help push the product or drive traffic to a site?
  • Complimentary Values–Do you have similar business values?
  • Are you willing to exchange potentially a larger sum of money in the future for a small startup cost and little to no risk in the present?
  • A product or service that lends itsself to online marketing–Does your product generate enough trackable revenue that can be measure DIRECTLY from the online channel to be able to compensate the Search Engine marketer for their time and effort?

If you answer is YES to the above questions, or you’d like to explore Search Engine Marketing joint ventures further, please feel free to give me a call today.

Eric - check out my newest venture. http://www.tantans.com - I’m partnering with 2 buddies from college - one owns a tanning salon & will handle distribution, one is a full time web developer & will handle the back end design & work, & I’m handling the SEO & marketing. This will be my first non-real estate online venture!

    Very cool Bramlett!

(No pun intended!) Way to go…I think that there are a lot more where this came from! That is exactly the type of joint venture thinking that will dominate the web IMO over the next few years. Those kinds of partnerships where each has a natural talent combine with the power of online marketing is where it’s at!

BTW–I will get back to you in a bit on your E-mail to me Eric…
I am actually working on a RE related project right now that is a joint marketing venture right now1 (I am the SEO and web dev and partner has huge OFFLINE local marketing connections that she is bringing to bear. This can work many ways!

    Best

No worries on the email - just whenever you have time. Good luck with the new project, it sounds really exciting - I’d love to hear about some time.

We’re really excited about this lotion deal - if we’re able to make it work, we’re going to use the process as a template for similar products that we have ideas for. The only aspect I’m anxious about is the distribution - I’ve never actually dealt with products before, it’s always been services. Oh well, though, at least I’m not in charge of that side!

Anyone looking to be competitive on the internet can benefit from hiring a competent firm to represent your interests.

Most persons that are running a business, don’t have time to work the additional job (and it is a full time job) of doing the search engine optimization.

Eric & EricOnSearch gets a big 2 thumbs up and I’d recommend anyone to use their services!

@Bramlett–Yep. I am much more comfortable with services…no risk of those sitting on the shelf! You just hire more as needed! (grin)

Wanted to follow up quickly on the tanning venture I told you about a few weeks ago - we just hit page 1 for “tanning lotion.” The cool thing about this is that we started developing the site @ the same time we started working on the off-site SEO. We’re about 2 weeks away from actually launching the functioning site, and we’re already ranking!

Got something to say?
